Join us for a special evening celebrating the outstanding talent and creativity showcased at the Stamford International Film Festival. Hosted by Amelia Clarkson, the Awards Show will bring filmmakers, actors and industry professionals together to recognise the very best work across a range of categories. Culminating in a designated networking hour to close out the day.
BALLROOM
The Ballroom at Stamford Arts Centre has a history dating back to 1727, when Stamford’s Assembly Rooms were built on St George’s Square. Designed for the fashionable social life of Georgian Stamford, the rooms were used for dancing, music, tea, cards and social gatherings, with dance being the main attraction. The Assembly Rooms became a popular meeting place for local society and visiting dignitaries, and the Ballroom remains one of the earliest surviving assembly rooms of its kind in Britain. Today, the historic space continues its original tradition by hosting concerts, dances, celebrations and other community events.
AMELIA CLARKSON - HOST
Amelia is an actress, development producer and Director. She started in the industry acting as a child when she starred as young jane eyre in the 2011 film Jane Eyre. Since then Amelia has gone on to work on various films, radio programmes and Television series. Including leading the Bbc three and Netflix teen horror Red Rose. In the last few years Amelia has turned her attention to development and directing. Her Debut horror short was a finalist at the bay international film festival as well as screening at bifa and bafta qualifying festival NEIFF and Bradford international. Her latest role as development exec was on short film ‘squeaky bum’ which has just won best North West short at Manchester film festival. Amelia has also taught acting for professionals over the years at Young Actors Theatre Islington.
Awards will be presented for Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Comedy, Best Drama, Best LGBTQIA+, Women in Film, Best Thriller/Horror, and Best Student Film.The Best Short Film winner will receive a trophy, a Film Friendly Master Class, a one-year membership to Female Film Club for one member, and a one-year membership to My Smash Media Pro for one member.All other category winners will receive a trophy and a Film Friendly Master Class, providing an exciting opportunity to further develop their craft and connect with the wider film industry.
